Tanah Lot Art Festival 2009  is an event that held in Tanah Lot Bali which representing implementation of Tabanan community arts. This event was held with theme “mulat sarira” and held on May 30 until June 07, 2009,  take place at Surya Mandala Cultural Park Tanah Lot.  Yesterday held a variety of Tabanan arts start at 9 AM until 4 PM. Then, at 4.15 PM, Opening Ceremony was held and followed by at least 900 artists from Tabanan  regency such as  Yowana Dance, Gebogan Parade, and Baleganjur.  This Tanah Lot Art Festival is very special because it was attended by some of these special invitation  like Megawati Soekarno Putri, and was opened by the Bali’s Governor “Made Mangku Pastika” accompanied by the head regency of Tabanan “N. Adi Wiryatama “.

The arrival of Megawati and Mangku Pastika greeted with Baleganjur orchestra and Okokan & Tektekan. Entourage directly went to the stage of honor that has been provided. The event begins with the Opening dance and then continued with the greeting from the General Chairman of the committee that is Tabanan’s Tourism and Culture department “I Wayan Diasa”. Then, continued with the Head regency of Tabanan speech, the Bali’s governor speech, and Megawati which wish to give her speech for the festival. At 4.45 PM Mangku Pastika with Megawati Soekarno Putri, and accompanied by Adi Wiryatama went to the kulkul hall. Then Mangku Pastika beat the kulkul as sign that Tanah Lot Art Festival in 2009 was opened.

Beside Balinese dances performance, there will be exhibition of art and many other activities.  Many kind of Balinese dances will showed on this festival. The purpose is to keep the Balinese art and culture and more introducing Balinese culture to the world.
